Mom is less able to walk around, and now it’s a hassle to bring her to a restaurant outside of her nursing home. However, she’s getting tired of eating at the same place. What can we do?

You don’t mention if your mom has any type of mobility equipment to help her get around, so renting a piece of equipment may be an option. For example, if your mom is unable to walk long distances without tiring, renting a walker will help. If she is more mobility-impaired, then a manual wheelchair may be the solution.

Both devices will help her stay mobile and allow you to take her to a variety of restaurants in your community. This will give your mom the change of scene that she’s looking for.

To find where to rent equipment, contact your local Red Cross or medical supply store, or check the yellow pages to find a store in your community.
