Being physically active is a core component of healthy aging and research also suggests that exercise may have preventative effects in Alzheimer’s disease. Exercise seems to cause restorative changes in the brain such as improved nerve cell growth and connectivity. This article outlines some of the new research surrounding how exercise might “clean” the Alzheimer’s brain.
