New laws from the Ontario government will force people who are waiting for a LTC bed to be discharged from the hospital that they are currently in and move them to any LTC bed in the province. Yes, people could very well be re-located far away from their loved ones. Also, if they actually remain in the hospital, waiting for a LTC bed in their area, they could be charged $1,500.00 per day to stay in the hospital. This is a very scary time for old, vulnerable seniors in Ontario.
