Caroline Tapp-McDougall, Editor, Chair of Canada Cares

Caregiver burnout means:

  • Stress, fatigue, social isolation & grief
  • Anxiety and depression
  • Increased risk of ill-health

Prevent burnout with coping methods such as:

  • Humour
  • Proper sleep and rest
  • Asking for help
  • Focusing on what you are able to provide
  • Daily “me time”
  • Being thankful

Caroline’s presentation was part of the Passport to Wellness for Family Caregivers workshop on October 21, 2012.
