Where can I find social activities for someone in a wheelchair? My sister had a stroke a few years ago and feels she can’t do much now because it’s too difficult.
There are many day programs that your sister might be able to attend in your local community. Many senior community centres are specifically designed for people in wheelchairs or with walkers, so it should not be too difficult to get to these programs and they might even be able to arrange transportation. It is possible that your sister isn’t comfortable going to a program alone at first, and if a family member can go with her, or you can arrange for someone to assist her, she might be more willing to go.
