Meet my caregiving hero, my husband Wayne who drove me through winter storms to see the surgeon (10 hours return trip from our home), waited through the surgery, and attended all the follow up required. For the last many months, this man gathered the mobility equipment, cleaned and dressed the incisions with gentle care, made me laugh, made meals, changed the commode, did the shopping and the laundry, made me laugh, kept the household going, and did I mention, made me laugh. Here is a picture of him beside our camper last summer and we are getting ready to go out again. I no longer need my cane but will keep my laughter and him beside me. That is love.
