It’s hard to get an appointment with the family doctor when my parents need help. He always seems to be booked far in advance. Any tips?
When making the appointment, ensure that the person who is doing the booking is aware of the urgent need for the appointment. Most offices keep one or two appointments open in the day to allow for emergencies. Also, try to be as flexible as possible when asking for the appointment, rather than fixing on any one particular day or time. It might be helpful to set your parents up with regular appointments with their doctor, such as every six months or so, to ensure that they are being seen on a regular basis.
