It may be no shock for some to hear that a provincial government’s home care system is stretched. Care managers are frequently rushed for time and often have do not meet the care needs of their patients.
In this story, it was not until, Lana Turner, 55 who is a quadriplegic in Surrey, B.C., reached out to the media to share her story. According to Turner, she not been given a bath in over a month and was told to use dry shampoo. Turner also says that her care manager simply ignored her complaints that the service left her feeling hungry, disgusting and depressed.
