Sue, a Calgarian, spends a lot of her time caring for her 16 grandkids. But there is one child who needs special attention: Gemma. She had a clot in her ear when she was born, and is now blind and has cerebral palsy. What was it like caring for a daughter and a granddaughter at the same time? “That’s hard,” Sue says. “As a grandmother, you ache for your daughter and granddaughter. Their pain is your pain.” Sue’s story is included in the Being There series, led by Mike Lang.
