I was invited to sit on a panel representing York Region to the Federal Minister for Seniors this week. It was a great honour to present our chairty to Honourable Diane Ablonczy, Minister of State (Seniors). I wish to thank Lois Brown MP Newmarket-Aurora for the invitation.
The panel highlighted issues for seniors and their families both in York Region and Canada.
After the panel meeting, Minister Ablonczy gave me a big hug and expressed her interest in our work. We had a wonderful chat. I offered my help to her for issues relating to families.
Who would have ever thought, that in less than 2 years of being an active charity, “Losing Our Parents” was talked about and presented to the Minister of State (Seniors)!
