Even though families deliver 70-80% of all community care in Canada, we receive almost no training or support. Some daily tasks are complex, and it can be overwhelming when we aren’t certain how to do them.

That’s why it’s so great that the McMaster University Department of Continuing Education is now offering two FREE online training courses for caregivers.

The first course is called Caregiving Essentials and includes many helpful resources (like monthly webinars and templates for note-taking at doctors appointments). The Second, focusing on viral transmissions and PPE, is called Infection Prevention and Control for Caregivers and Families.

Find details and helpful reviews about the courses on Donna Thomson’s blog, The Caregivers’ Living Room.

Special thanks to Donna Thomson for sharing her insights into family caregiving.
