Volunteer Recruitment Fair
Have you thought about volunteering for a local agency that supports seniors?
We recently hosted a “Volunteer Recruitment Fair” to allow the public to explore a wide variety of volunteering opportunities for local agencies supporting seniors. There were table top displays by community agencies showcasing who they are, how they help the community and how you might be a perfect volunteer for them.
If you could not attend our event, we will have on our site shortly, videos of each agency talking about who they are and what types of volunteering opportunities they have. Stay tuned to watch those videos when they are posted.

Share your story about why you volunteer
As part of this project, we are doing podcasts and videos of people sharing their stories about why they volunteer. At our Fair, we video taped people sharing their stories of why they volunteer. Look for those videos and podcasts too to be posted on our site. Who knows, perhaps your story will inspire others to roll up their sleeves and help a community group or cause.
Building community + helping seniors = awesome!
This project is all about building community and coming together to help seniors in our area.
Special thanks to the Government of Canada’s New Horizons for Seniors Program for funding this project.
